Pre-laboratory study:
Mixing of plantain with known capacity of BNI with six different types of organic fertilisers. The effect will be evaluated in terms of N2O emissions and N pools.
Field study:
The two most promising fertilisers to be stabilised by plantain BNI will be tested in a field experiment where plantain will be intercropped with a spring sown crop. N pools will be monitored.
